Indies & Undies, ft. Rainbow Honey's "Summer Mixtape" Collection (with coupon code)

Reviews-Day Tuesday is back, y'all!  Today I have three of the twelve Rainbow Honey nail polishes from the "Summer Mixtape" collection.  Rainbow Honey is fighting the battle against boring nails - did they succeed?

Let's start with the first polish, "I Wanna Get Better".  This nail polish has a peachy crelly base, with neon glitter, in several shapes, including circles, hexes, squares, and stars.

Left - 1 coat, Right - 2 coats

2 coats of Rainbow Honey in "I Wanna Get Better" over 2 coats of Sinful Colors in "Skylark".

I'm a big fan of the color combination on this one.  The orange with a few pops of yellow, pink, and purple are great for summer.  I did use a creamy, light orange base under this, since it is a crelly, and can go on kind of sheer.  But the cool thing about this color is that it is very buildable - with each coat of "I Wanna Get Better", the color of the base became a stronger and bolder reddish-orange colour, which gave the look a lot of dimension.  I was able to get the star glitter quite easily, with minimal fishing, but I cannot say the same about the large purple and yellow circle glitters.  I was able to pick up a few, but most of them seemed to want to stay at the bottom of the bottle.

Next is "One Minute More".  This polish is lemon-y yellow with tiny iridescent pink flecks.

Left - 1 coat, Right - 2 coats
3 coats of Rainbow Honey in "One Minute More".

I have to say, I wasn't the biggest fan of this one.  I opted to try this one with "no undies", but I quickly began to regret that decision.  The formula was a bit thick for my liking, which led to a bit of balding, during application.  I achieved somewhat opacity with three very thick coats. Although I love a good lemon-y yellow, out of the three polishes that I received, this was my least favorite of the bunch.

Save my fave for last, right? *Drumroll*  This is "Elevate" - A clear base with a variety of shapes and colors of glitters, including triangles, circles, squares, and hexes.

Left - 1 coat, Right - 2 coats
1 coat of Rainbow Honey in "Elevate" over Revlon in "Minted".

Gaaaaah, I love it!  So pretty, no fishing required, and this polish can go beautifully over almost any color.  I spent a good 5 minutes choosing which color I wanted to use as undies.  The formula was smooth, and each dip of the brush brought a great selection of glitters - no sinking glitters, bright fun colors - what's not to love?

These colors, as well as the rest of the collection are available now on Rainbow Honey's official website.  Be sure to use promo code MIXTAPE20 to receive 20% off your next order, the code expires August 31, 2014.
